70 new Covid-19 cases Thursday in Latvia

The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 139,204. 

Of 6,504 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 1.1% were positive.

The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants rose from 44.1 Wednesday to 45.4 Thursday.

No Covid-related deaths were confirmed, so the death toll since the start of the pandemic stays at 2,558.

Meanwhile in Estonia 258 new Covid cases were registered Thursday and in Lithuania 218 new cases were recorded.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv/.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme.

All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
