COVID-19 case total increases by 92 in Latvia

Latvia recorded 92 new cases of COVID-19 November 9, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC), bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 8,187.

Of 2,398 tests carried out in total, 3.8% were positive, sharply down on the 5.7% rate the previous day.

Two deaths were also recorded, one victim aged 70 to 75, one aged 90 to 95.

 

 

So far 1,466 patients have recovered from infection and 101 have died.

On November 8, the 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 of population was 177.8 in Latvia, 470.3 in Lithuania and 119.4 in Estonia, according to data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control

The National Health Service (NVD) said Latvia's hospitals have 313 patients being treated for coronavirus symptoms at the moment (up on 263 the previous day), of whom 301 are displaying moderate symptoms while 12 have serious symptoms.

All arrivals (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
