Covid case total rises by 156 in Latvia

The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 136,403.  

Of 9,053 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 1.7% were positive.

The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants continued its steady decline, from 144.1 Tuesday to 134.0 Wednesday.

Unfortunately, there were also eleven more deaths from Covid-19 confirmed. The death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 2,475.

Meanwhile in Estonia 59 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed Wednesday and in Lithuania the total was 126 cases.

Use of nose and mouth coverings, physical distancing and frequent hand washing and sanitary cleaning habits are encouraged.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv/. Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme.

All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
