Of those, 1,376 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 2,399 were fully vaccinated.
Of 9,411 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 40.1% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population continued to surge to record levels, climbing from 4,500 Sunday to 4,617.0 Monday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic 392,764 Covid-19 cases have been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.
Sadly, five more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed, all of the persons aged 60 years or over. Two of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 4,873.
Sunday data from the National Health Service show 809 patients being treated in hospital (up on 753 the previous day) with 88 patients admitted and 22 discharged during the last 24 hours. 76 patients are displaying serious symptoms.
In the other Baltic states, Estonia recorded nearly 5,000 cases during the last 24 hours while Lithuania had over 5,700 cases.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
