Last week's vaccination number passed 100,000 mark in Latvia

Take note – story published 2 years ago

Last week, the threshold of 100,000 people vaccinated against Covid-19 was exceeded for the first time: 102,035 people received the jab, according to National Health Service data, LETA reported May 19.

It was already reported by LSM that a record was hit last week, but data were still being entered in the system so the precise number was not yet known.

If 100,000 people are vaccinated within a week, it means that the goal of a daily average of 1% of the population aged over 16 is close and was even exceeded last week.

By Tuesday, May 18, at least 401,945 people had received the first dose in Latvia, while 129,396 people had completed the vaccination process, or 21.28% and 6.85% of the population respectively.
