Latvia donates another ambulance to Ukraine

Take note – story published 1 year ago

The second ambulance with another load of humanitarian aid truck has gone from Rīga to the Ukrainian front, provided by the health center network VC4, Latvian Television reported on December 14.

The car is equipped with all the necessary medical equipment and filled with other items: medical goods, bandaging materials, warm clothing, and food. Various goods needed by Ukrainian soldiers and civilians – thermal underwear, gloves, food, batteries, lights, and candles – are also donated personally by the employees of VC4.

“We are very aware of what the situation is, how much this medical treatment is needed and how hard it is for them to do. There is not even a question here about whether and why it has to be done. We have tried and will continue to try to help as far as possible within our capacity,” said Džeina Mežale, spokeswoman for VC4.

The car will go to Bakhmut region, which has now become one of the hottest points in the war. Due to the lack of transport, the Ukrainian troops have to carry their wounded soldiers from the front to the distant military hospital for several kilometers.
