Map: Covid-19 prevalence across Latvia

The highest incidence rates with Covid-19 in Latvia are in Mārupe, Ķekava and Ventspils, according to data compiled by the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC), LETA reported January 2.

The cumulative incidence of two weeks in Latvia is at 522 cases per 100,000 inhabitants by the beginning of 2022. The incidence rate in Marupe is at nearly 900, Ķekava is second at 837, whereas in Ventspils municipality it is at 779. 

In general, the country's average incidence rate with Covid-19 in the country is exceeded in 13 municipalities and is also higher in Ventspils city, Madona, Ropaži, Ādaži, Saulkrasti, Salaspils, Jelgava, Rīga, Liepāja and Valmiera.

Of the 180 Covid-19 infections detected on Sunday, 42% or 76 were registered in Rīga.

The largest total number in the last two weeks is in Rīga - 3913, Liepāja - 401, Jelgava - 354, Daugavpils - 299, Mārupe municipality - 295, Valmiera municipality - 273, Ogre municipality - 269, and Jūrmala - 262.
