By Monday, 67% of the total number of people living and working in long-term social care centers had been vaccinated, Ministry of Welfare said March 17.

Of the 8,918 vaccinated persons in total, 2,850 social care center workers and 6,114 residents have been vaccinated, said the Ministry of Health.

In total, 101,142 doses of vaccines have been used in Latvia – 35,514 doses of Pfizer vaccine, 9,457 doses of Moderna vaccine and 56,171 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. Temporary suspension of the use of AstraZeneca will result in a significant decrease in vaccination rates this week.

Vaccination will only continue with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines in accordance with the planned schedule.

Vaccination of social care center residents and employees began February 10.
