Of 11,287 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 17.7% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population climbed from 631.3 Wednesday to 686.2 Thursday.
Twelve more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. The youngest of the victims was in the 50-59 years age bracket and two were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,625.

Thursday data from the National Health Service show 574 patients being treated in hospital (up from 557 on Wednesday) with 81 patients admitted and 50 discharged during the last 24 hours. 73 patients are displaying serious symptoms.
In the other Baltic states, Estonia currently has 229 hospitalized patients and nearly 1,500 cases confirmed during the last 24 hours while in Lithuania there were 1,063 hospitalized patients with over 3,000 new Covid-19 cases confirmed during the last 24 hours.

Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
