Of 11,679 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 2.5% were positive, down on the 3.3% rate of Wednesday. 4% is regarded as the threshold at which the disease is spreading uncontrollably.
Continuing the encouraging trend of the last two weeks, the 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants fell yet again from 241.3 Wednesday to 230.7 Thursday.
