One Covid death over weekend in Latvia

One death from Covid-19 has been recorded during the past 72 hours in Latvia, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) on December 5.

Of 4,075 tests carried out over the past three days, 17.6% were positive, resulting in 719 confirmed new cases of infection. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 population rose from 294 Friday to 311 Monday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 965,678 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population. 

The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 6,103. The latest victim was aged over 80 years.

Monday hospital data from the National Health Service (NVD) show 303 patients being treated in hospitals, four of whom are displaying serious symptoms.

A hotline – 8989 – allows people to both register for vaccination and receive answers to questions about the process of vaccination will continue to operate. The number for medical emergencies is 113.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
