Of 16,854 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 15.2% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population jumped from 1010.1 Wednesday to 1079.9 Thursday.
Sadly, ten more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All victims were aged 60 or over and four were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,700.
Wednesday data from the National Health Service show 569 patients being treated in hospital with 62 patients admitted and 67 discharged during the last 24 hours. 86 patients are displaying serious symptoms.
In the other Baltic states, Estonia had 241 hospitalized patients, 2,438 new cases and 4 deaths confirmed during the last 24 hours while Lithuania had over 4,000 cases and 19 deaths.
