Car drives into the Daugava in central Rīga; one dead

According to the preliminary information available to the police, on Saturday evening shortly before 20:00 a car drove off the 11. novembra krastmala roadway and into the Daugava for unknown reasons.

Several hours later, the Škoda Yeti model car was lifted out of the river. The dead body of a man born in 1992 was found in the car.

Police continue their investigation into the event.
