Expressing support for Ukraine on its way to accession to the European Union (EU) and commemorating the victims of the war, a flower composition in the colors of the Ukrainian flag was created in Rīga on Monday at the Freedom Monument, Latvian Television reported.

The Rīga City Council said that European Day is celebrated throughout Europe on May 9 each year. Therefore, symbolically, with Ukraine on its way to the European Union, the symbol of Latvian freedom – the Freedom Monument – is decorated with a flower composition in Ukrainian national colors.

There is also a photo exhibition depicting various historical events at and around the Freedom Monument.
