Christmas stamps are coming to town

On November 22, 2023, the Latvian Post published three new postage stamps in the Christmas series.

The design for the festive-themed editions is by artist Ludis Danilāns. A special festive envelope has also been created in 500 copies.

Each postage stamp has a different face value. A postage stamp with a nominal value of EUR 1.65 is intended for payment of letter post in the weight category up to 20 grams in the territory of Latvia, and its circulation reaches 300,000 copies. A postage stamp with a nominal value of EUR 1.83 corresponds to the payment of letter-post in the weight category up to 20 grams to countries in Group 13, but the circulation of this postage stamp is 100,000 copies. A postage stamp with a nominal value of EUR 2.08 has been issued in 100,000 copies and corresponds to the payment of letter-post in the weight category up to 20 grams to countries in Group 14.

The issue of Christmas stamps was started by the Latvian Post in 1994, and so far more than 80 designs of Christmas stamps have been issued in more than one hundred million copies. The postage stamps released so far in the Christmas series can be seen here.
