Man hit by train in Ogre, Latvia

On Monday, March 27, in Ogre, a man has been run over by a train at the Jaunogre railway station, the State Police representative Līna Bagdone told Latvian Radio.

According to the initial information available to the police, the train, arriving at Jaunogre station after ten o'clock and hit a man who died of injuries at the scene.

State Police have started criminal proceedings.

The Rīga-Zilupe train involved in the accident was delayed for approximately 40 minutes, and the Rīga–Aizkraukle train on the same route had a delay of 14 minutes. The movement of other trains wasn't affected, the Passenger Rail (PV) said.
