Missing girl in eastern Latvia still not found

The search efforts for the seven-year-old Justīne Reinikova, who has been missing for three weeks from the Rogovka village of Rēzekne municipality have so far been unsuccessful, the State Police (VP) said Sunday, May 28.

On Saturday, the girl's search took place in Rogovka and its surroundings, with the involvement of both VP staff and volunteers and the missing people search organization “Bezvests.lv”. The sectors in Rogovka and its surroundings, which had not been searched until now, have been searched.

Despite the efforts, Justīne was not found. The VP is continuing to work on the girl's search efforts.

As reported, Bezvests.lv had hoped to launch an extensive search mission of 1,500 volunteers on Saturday, but only around 100 volunteers arrived. It was thus possible to search a much smaller area than originally planned, said Bezvests.lv spokeswoman Irina Brūniņa, unable to explain the low level of public response.

Seven-year-old Justīne Reinikova went missing from the Rēzekne municipality, Nautrēnu parish, Rogovka village on May 5 evening. Justīne left her residence at about 19:00. Her height is 124 centimeters. Justīne has blond shoulder-length hair. She has health problems and speaks unclearly. She wore a short pink windbreaker, a white sweater, black jeans, and black fabric shoes.

State police ask that anyone who knows her possible location should call 67006734 or 110.
