Take note – story published 7 years ago

A column of US military hardware crossed the border from Lithuania to Latvia Monday as part of the 'Dragoon ride' publicity drive for current NATO exercises in the region and the forthcoming Warsaw NATO summit.

As reported by Latvia's armed forces news portal, Sargs.lv, dozens of pieces of equipment including headlining Stryker fighting vehicles of the US 2nd Cavalry will cross Latvia from June 6 to June 9 en route to exercises in Estonia.

Along the way the vehicles and soldiers will stop in Daugavpils, Ludza, Gulbene, Smiltene and Valka in order to let the public get up close and ask questions.

It is the second Dragoon Ride after the first iteration last year proved a big hit with the public.
