Take note – story published 9 years ago

The Russian navy corvette Soobrazitelny, which was spotted by National Armed Forces (NBS) coast guard patrols on several occasions in 2014, came close again to Latvia's territorial waters Thursday inside the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Baltic Sea, the NBS tweeted Thursday.

The corvette, which is a type of warship designed to be smaller and faster than larger naval vessels like the frigate, came within a distance of just 5.2 nautical miles (approximately 10 kilometers) from Latvia's sea border this time.
