According to State Police representative Andris Locs, this year's Midsummer was quite peaceful.
In total, 93 drunk drivers were caught on Latvia's roads during the holidays, which is less than last year.
While the Fire and Rescue service responded to 300 calls, most of which were rescue works or looking for possibly drowned people underwater, according to Viktorija Gribuste, a representative of the service.
Meanwhile the Emergency Medical Assistance Service said that 61 people had to receive medical treatment due to heat. That is what Ilze Bukša, a representative of the service, told LETA.
Rescue services and the police are usually on high alert during the Midsummer celebration, and police say traffic cops will be extending increased presence on Latvia's roads on Monday as well.
