Latvia has sent 14 loads of donations to Ukraine

So far, 14 humanitarian aid shipments have been sent from Latvia to Ukraine to provide support to the civilian population of Ukraine who have been affected by Russian warfare, the Ministry of Defense reported March 21.

The loads were sent by organizations Viegli palīdzēt, Ziedot.lv and Uzņēmēji mieram. Essentials, hygiene products, medicines, food products and clothing are sent to the areas of Rivne, Odessa, and Zakarpatska.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassy of Latvia in Ukraine and the Latvian network of honorary consuls shall be involved in the communication regarding the further delivery of cargo, while the State Fire and Rescue Service shall ensure that the aid provided is included in the European Union's joint support system.

The next civilian humanitarian shipments are being prepared, which will be on the way Tuesday and Wednesday, explained the ministry.
