LTV started its foray into beekeeping this year, setting up hives at the Television building on Zaķusala island in Rīga. Its bees were taken here by Andis Titorenko, an apiarist from Ikšķile municipality.
The sweet taste of LTV's honey might be explained by the abundance of linden trees on the island.
Second place was awarded to Alita Grugule from Ventspils municipality while Rimants Gaidamovičs' bees from Naukšēni municipality produced the honey that was awarded third place.
