State Police and an NBS unit called in for assistance have discovered various types of munitions at the scene of the deadly explosion, including grenades, artillery charges, anti-tank rockets and other incendiary and explosive devices.

An investigation continues into the accident.

State Police spokesperson Signe Šteinberga told Latvian Radio that the man, born in 1967, had tried to saw the charge in half when it exploded on him in the building’s courtyard.
