Next week promises respite from extreme heat in Latvia

The heatwave will continue over the weekend but will get much cooler from Monday, according to forecasts by LSM's weatherman Toms Bricis.

On Saturday, there will still be the red alert on extreme heat in Latvia's central and eastern part, as the temperature will reach +28 C to +32 C, cooler on the coast. On Sunday the temperature will rise to +25 C to +30 C, coastal +23.. +24 degrees. Nights will not be so hot anymore, with a minimum temperature of +15 C to +20 C.

The weekend will be mostly sunny, but local thunderstorms will form in places, particularly on Saturday.

As of Monday, temperatures in Latvia will drop sharply. Current forecasts show that until Thursday it will be mostly within +19 C to +24 C, at nights +9 C to +14 C. The weather will be mostly sunny, but there can be thunderstorms. It is likely to get hotter again over the next weekend.
