LVĢMC has issued a red alert in Latgale and the east of Vidzeme during the period on Tuesday from 9:00 to 21:00.
The alert states that there is a risk of life-threatening flooding, and evacuation might be needed. The movement will be difficult, and electricity, telecoms, and water supply could be impaired. Driving conditions will be dangerous due to reduced visibility. Increased water levels are expected in the rivers.

In the central part of Latvia, orange and yellow alerts are in force. There will also be a lot of rain but not as much as in the east.
Tuesday in the east of Latvia will be not only rainy but also cool and windy – around +11 C to +13 C, elsewhere around +15 C to +20 C.
