The Ministry of Defense plans to purchase up to three hundred armored fighting vehicles Patria, developed in Finland, hoping that Latvia could also participate in their production, Latvian Television reported May 26.
Canada's foreign minister, Stephane Dion, was in Latvia July 11 to confirm plans to send around 450 troops to the country early next year.
