Art Hunt
From March 2 to 31, the annual pop-up art market will be up at the Kalnciema Quarter Art Gallery.
The market will offer for viewing and purchase artworks by more than 300 Latvian Academy of Art student and graduate pieces in different styles and techniques.
Opening hours are Thursday to Friday 17:00 to 20:00 and weekends 9:00 to 17:00. The gallery is located at Kalnciema Street 25. Entrance is free.
Life after Death
The Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum (Ukrainas Neatkarības Street 1, Rīga) will host an exhibition "Life after Death. Remembrance Practices and the Museum" from March 1 to August 31, 2024.
"The subject we have chosen deals with generational change in Latvian museums. It is based on an assumption that history museums founded during the Soviet occupation suffer from post-traumatic disorders of memory function or perhaps were created to serve another purpose altogether – remembrance as an ideologized form of honoring," says the description of the exhibition.
Opening hours of the museum are Wednesday to Sunday 11:00 to 17:00, Thursdays 11:00 to 19:00.

Artdocfest Riga
From March 1 to 8, Riga will host the 4th International Documentary Film Festival “Artdocfest/Riga”. More than 30 documentaries will be screened during two competition programs – Baltic Focus and Artdocfest Open.
On March 1, the “Artdocfest/Riga” shows will be opened by the premiere of a film about the outstanding and prematurely deceased Latvian documentary film director Juris Podnieks.
“Artdocfest/Riga” film sessions will take place in the cinema “Splendid Palace”, as well as in the art center “Zuzeum”.
