Three for the Weekend: Choir Concert, Art Festival, Flavor Journey

Summer is at its peak, and so far it has been full of events to choose from. Here are a few for this weekend.

Summer concert at Sports Palace Gardens

Annual concerts at the Sports Palace Gardens (Sporta pils dārzi; Krišjāņa Barona Street 75, Rīga) have become a summer tradition of the capital. On Friday, July 21, the Latvian Radio Choir conducted by Sigvards Kļava will perform a medley of Gregorian chants, percussion by Miks Čavarts, and contemporary music.

The concert takes place outdoors so visitors are encouraged to bring throw blankets and chairs. Entrance is free. The performances begin at 20:30, but the gardens will be open starting 19:00.

Cēsis art festival

From July 15 to August 20, the annual Cēsis art festival takes place throughout the city of Cēsis. The festival offers various exhibitions, installations, performances, and other events every day. Find out the ones most suited for you at the Cēsis art festival website.

Flavor journey at Skrīveri factory

On July 22 and 23, the Home Cafe days of the Vidusdaugava municipality take place. Among other locations, the Skrīveri factory most known for producing the 'Gotiņa' and other candy, opens its doors to visitors for a unique flavor experience. Along with that, 'Gotiņa' making workshops and degustations will take place all day.

It is recommended to book your visit by calling 27827363, but it is not mandatory, as indicated by the organizers.
