More foreign films to be shot in Latvia

In 2020, the Rīga Film Fund has co-financed a total of seven foreign film projects - five in July and two more in August, Rīga City Council's public relations department said September 14.

In August, an Ego Media application for a series of research journalism in 4 parts based on true events got a co-financing agreement with Riga municipality, which will be in cooperation with Monday Media (Denmark). Filming in Latvia is scheduled for October 2020.

Tasse Film and Ratcatcher Entertainment (Cyprus) fantasy thriller will also be co-financed. Filming in Latvia is scheduled for October and November 2020.

In July, the co-financing was already approved for five films.

This year, application for the Riga Film Fund co-financing competition has concluded, as available funds (EUR 800 000) have been allocated already.
