Laima opens new production plant at Ādaži

September 9 saw famous Latvian confectionery brand 'Laima' opening a new production facility in Ādaži, just north of Rīga.

According to the company, 20 million euros has been invested in the new production facility and the development of Laima brand over the past three years, making it one of the biggest investments in the Latvian food sector.

The total area of the new plant is more than 7200 m2 and it will be the new working environment for more than 100 employees. In addition, it houses a modern product development lab, which will develop and improve new products in Laima's product range.

Laima is one of Latvia's best-known and longest-established brands, and Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš was among those present to cut the tape at the new facility.

Currently, Laima's portfolio includes more than 200 different products available in 13 countries around the world. The company traces its history to 1870 and consequently is marking 150 years of business.
