Osokin Freedom Festival for Ukraine to return April, May

From April 5 to May 12, the fifth Osokin Freedom Festival will be held in Rīga and elsewhere in Latvia. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it has been dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian army, civilians, and especially Ukrainian children.

The festival and its events will take place over two months, bringing together artists from Latvia, Ukraine, and other countries and professionals from different fields in various concerts, master classes, talks, and other events. In collaboration with ticket vendor “Biļešu Paradīze” and the Ziedot.lv charity platform, ticket revenue and funds raised will be used for the support of Ukraine.

Pianist Andrejs Osokins, founder and artistic head of the festival, says: “It is very important not to lose hope and confidence that justice will win, as well as the connection with those who need help so badly in both Latvia and Ukraine. As Russia continues its vicious attack and seeks to destroy the Ukrainian people, we must continue to provide both emotional, financial, and humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians.

“It is also our fight, so we need to show how united and strong Latvia is in its support for Ukraine and in our human ideals. Music is that power that helps to strengthen, consolidate, and give us all hope. The emotions, applause, and smiles of spectators experienced at festivals so far inspire us to continue so that together we can provide increasing support to fellow human beings and bring Ukraine closer to victory. ”

The festival program can be accessed and tickets for concerts can be purchased at all Biļešu Paradīse checkouts and on the Internet. More information about the festival can be found on the website.
