Latvian National Symphony Orchestra leaves its home in Great Guild

The Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) is leaving its home - the Great Guild Hall - for the duration of the renovation works, LNSO said on May 17.

In the new season, the orchestra will welcome its audiences at the Hansa Platform (Hanzas perons), Riga Latvian Society House, Daile Music House, as well as concert halls throughout Latvia, LNSO representatives said.

On May 17, the Great Guild will host the final concert of the 2023/2024 season. This will be the last concert before the Great Guild House closes its doors for two years to undergo major building improvements.

In the new season, not only will the orchestra be visiting audiences in new concert halls, but the chosen repertoire promises to be full of musical surprises.

There will be concerts of symphonic music with renowned Latvian and foreign artists, as well as concerts of the LNSO's well-known chamber music cycle. As usual, the musical adventures of the younger generations will be taken care of by the orchestra's friends - the puppet LeNeSOns and the storyteller Goran Gora or Jānis Holšteins-Upmanis, said the LNSO.

LNSO's concert venues and dates can be found on the orchestra's website.
