Baltic Music Video Competition will be part of Rīga film festival

October 19 will see one of the screening of a Baltic Music Video Competition as part of the Rīga International Film Festival (Riga IFF), organizers have announced.

A total of 16 music videos from the Baltic countries will compete for the RIGA IFF award and a prize of 1,000 EUR, judged by a jury of five professionals from the music, cinema and creative industries.

"RIGA IFF Baltic Music Video Contest is a unique event in the Baltic countries, within the framework of which the brightest applications of the past year in the field of music videos are evaluated. It is an opportunity for musicians and video makers to meet and make new connections in the region, as well as to gain valuable impressions from the members of the jury... the audience will experience a film format that serves as an arena for bold experiments, redefines what is possible in the format and reveals an unexpected interaction between image and music," said a release.

Videos included in the program represent a wide variety of musical genres and visual language, but they are united by cinematic ambitions and a desire to experiment.
