Temporary head of Rail Baltica's project in Latvia appointed

On Friday,May 3, at the meeting of the members of the Rail Baltica project implementer Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas Ltd (EDzL), Ēriks Diļevs, head of the Latvian branch of the Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail, was temporarily appointed Chairman of the Board, the Ministry of Transport said.

The previous Chairman of the Board, Kaspars Vingris, resigned on April 27 for personal reasons.  

The MoU said that Diļevs will act as Chairman of the Board from 3 May until the appointment of a new Chairman of the EDzL Board, who will be selected through a public application procedure (tender) in accordance with the procedure laid down in the regulatory enactments.

Diļevs has more than 18 years of experience in the transport sector. Since 2018, Diļevs has been working for Rail Baltica's joint venture RB Rail AS, initially as Head of Roads and Utilities and later as Technical Director for Latvia.

Since the beginning of 2023, Diļevs has been the Head of the Latvian branch of RB Rail AS and is responsible for the management of the branch team, strategic planning, and cooperation with project stakeholders.
