Built-in scooter sensors and artificial intelligence have been monitoring Bolt users for nearly a month. If the user is found to be reckless, they would be penalized.
Bolt scooter operations specialist in Latvia Valts Marga said that for the first time, the user will receive a warning and educational materials. “If, after the next five trips, the user has not improved his or her habits, the maximum speed possible for the user profile will be reduced to 15 kilometers per hour,” Marga pointed out.
If the driver continues to endanger other road users, access to the Bolt scooters will be limited for a week. On the other hand, if the user receives restrictions several times, access to scooter services will be denied for a longer period. Maximum ban is planned for up to a year.
The spokesman for Bolt acknowledged that since the introduction of the new indicator, reckless drivers have already been restricted.
