The Irregular Latvian guide to national symbols

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Our favorite YouTuber, Anete Germane, is back with a particularly topical video. In full-on patriotic mood, she guides us through the great array of things that are considered symbols of Latvia.

As well as the official items such as the national anthem, the flag (complete with a handy guide to never confusing it with Austria's) and the national coat of arms, the Irregular Latvian includes unofficial symbols of the country such as rye bread, the former currency and the beautiful Lielvārde belt, as well as November 18 itself.

Happy independence day to Anete and all her YouTube subscribers, regardless of whether they are regular or irregular Latvians!
