At the meeting on October 5, the Crisis Management Council (KVP) did not yet agree on measures to reduce the Covid-19 spread. The council will continue to decide on further steps on Thursday, according to the State Chancery.

On Tuesday, October 5, following an information report on the epidemiological situation, the KVP instructed experts to prepare the scenarios for action and the necessary draft legislative amendments to contain the rapid spread of Covid-19 in order to avoid hospital congestion and ensure the availability of essential health services.

The members of the council meeting agreed that every person's decisive action is needed at the moment to reduce Covid-19 spread. Everyone should carefully consider how to significantly reduce face-to-face contact, comply with hygiene requirements and existing safety measures, including vaccination.

LSM reported earlier that the coalition parties have agreed to substantially reinforce the Covid-19 restrictions in Latvia as morbidity is on the rise. It was planned to decide on new measures on Tuesday, but the discussions have been postponed.
