Young engineers display their robotics skills

December 16 saw the second round of the Latvian Robotics Championship taking place on the premises of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) in Rīga, where more than 200 participants and 228 robots competed in 9 disciplines.

TSI's mascot, the humanoid robot NAO, opened the tournament in a festive atmosphere. Pupils and students from Latvia, the Baltics and other countries took part.

Mr. sc. Eng. Igors Laksa, TSI researcher and coordinator of the robotics tournament said: "The robotics tournament left an incredibly good impression. During the tournament, the participants competed not only for prizes, but also for the opportunity to show their skills in robotics. In general, the robotics tournament not only tested the preparation and abilities of young engineers, but also provided an unforgettable experience, new friends and inspiration for future projects."

Full results of the competition and details of the teams are available at the website: https://robotic.tsi.lv/robotic/

The tournament aims to promote increased interest in robotics and engineering professions, to improve general and special technical knowledge and skills in the main disciplines of robotics and to promote cooperation between educational institutions and robotics clubs to popularize robotics among children and young people.

The organizers were the Transport and Communications Institute in cooperation with the Academy of Young EngineersRobot school and International Innovation School.
