2024 'Latvian forest days' announced

May 24 and 25 are dates to mark in your diary with the announcement that they will be this year's 'Latvian forest days'.

The annual festival is run by state-owned forestry company Latvijas Valsts Meži (Latvian State Forests, LVM) with the main focus being at the LVM nature park in Tērvete, southern Latvia.

"Children and young people are especially welcome to visit to get to know the cycle of forest cultivation from a seed to a wooden house, as well as learn about learning and career opportunities in the forest industry at more than 100 forest information stops. Entry to the event is free," say the organizers.

As the video above shows, the forest days are always a popular event with numerous activities, nature trails and demonstrations to educate and entertain the public with regard to forests, nature and the environment.
