Take note – story published 2 years ago

Another 1,422 cases of Covid-19 infection were added to Latvia's total on November 13, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).

Of that number, 980 were unvaccinated persons, or persons not fully vaccinated, and 442 were fully vaccinated. The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 239,575.

Of the 17,183 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 8.3% were positive, the same percentage as the day before.

The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population dropped substantially again from 1251.5 Friday to 1174.5 Saturday, providing further evidence that the current infection wave is likely past its peak.

Sadly, 51 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed, with one of the victims under the age of 50. Six of the fatalities were fully vaccinated individuals. The death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 3,734.

Friday data show 1,377 patients being treated in hospital with 228 patients displaying serious symptoms.

Meanwhile in Estonia there were nearly 1,000 new cases and 6 deaths in the last 24 hours and in Lithuania there were more than 2,300 cases and 15 deaths.
