As of Tuesday, November 9, the National Health Service (NVD) will make booster vaccines against Covid-19 available for several more groups of the population.

The booster vaccine is now also provided for:

  • all residents aged 50 and over;
  • all residents with serious chronic illness aged 18 years and over;
  • those adults in work environments at a high risk of local outbreaks of Covid-19 or prolonged exposure to Covid-19 patients.

The decision on the extension of population groups was taken in accordance with the recommendations of the State Council for Immunization.

The booster shot should be performed at around six months after the second dose has been received.

For the booster, it is recommended to use “Spikevax” developed by “Moderna”, while the second priority is “Comirnaty” produced by “Pfizer/BioNTech”. If the first and second doses were Pfizer, it is recommended to use it also for the third.

The booster is not mandatory and it will not be required to get a Covid certificate.
