Rīga will have fourteen vaccination centers

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Two major and twelve smaller vaccination centers will be formed in Rīga, Health Minister Daniels Pavļuts said at the government meeting March 18.

For the creation of major mass vaccination centers it is planned to rent premises at the International Exhibition Centre in Ķīpsala and the “ATTA Centre” on Krasta Street 60.

Such a step has been taken as there are insufficient facilities at the disposal of the State and the local government. These objects have been selected taking into account the available wide spaces, functionality, location and number of available parking lots.

The exact costs of renting premises and additional services available will be clarified in the process of concluding contracts.

Other possible spaces have also been identified, which could be considered as an alternative solution, if necessary, or even for additional capacity, which will depend on the use of the facilities allocated by the Rīga municipality.

Mass vaccination centers will also be set up in other municipalities. For the most part, it is planned to use sport infrastructure.
