In the survey, 39% of Latvian residents expressed their opinion that their standard of living will not change, while 49% of the surveyed residents think so on average in the EU.
19% of Latvian residents said in the survey that they expect a decrease in living standards in the next five years, while 32% of the population expressed such pessimistic predictions on average in the EU.
When assessing the future of the EU, 69% of Latvian residents expressed in the survey that they are looking at it optimistically, while in the average EU this assessment was slightly lower - 61%. Meanwhile, 26% of the surveyed Latvian population and 35% of the EU population were pessimistic about the future of the EU.
The EP Spring Eurobarometer survey was conducted by the research agency Verian from February 7 to March 3 in all 27 EU Member States. The survey was conducted in person, with additional video interviews in the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland and Malta. A total of 26,411 interviews were conducted. EU results were weighted according to the population in each country.
