In total, about 182 camps organized by Riga municipal educational institutions are planned during the summer, but currently the site eriga.lv offers an opportunity to explore the possibilities of 39 open camps. Both children's and young people's centers, schools, and artistic creation centers offer their summer camps.
Applications for camps will be open starting Thursday, April 18.
Dmitrijs Zverevs, Head of Riga Local Government Youth Division, said that this year the application procedure is the same as last year. Children between 7 and 13 can mostly apply for open camps, and a total of more than 1,200 children will be provided with places in camps.
"39 open camps will be available, including four overnight camps. The co-financing of parents depends on the length of the camp, the programme, but basically, the interval is between €15 and €30 per participant. This is the time when you will be able to apply - April 18 at 10:00 a.m. and if the parent has made a form, click a button and the application will be filed,” Zverevs said.
Parents can already create their application form on the eriga.lv site today after looking at the camp offer. Upon application, the parent will receive an automatically prepared draft contract to enroll the participant in the camp.
Zverevs said the system does not prohibit a child from enrolling in multiple camps at the same time, but if a place has been obtained, it is imperative to decline others so others can get spots.
