On the night to Saturday, with northwesterly winds, colder air will flow into Latvia and on Saturday morning the air temperature in Latvia will be within the range -5 C to 0 C, but the temperature on the west coast in Kurzeme will remain above zero. During the night, there will be some snowfall and wet snow or sleet.
The sun will shine in many places on Saturday, the sky will be clear and temperatures will keep below zero.
On the night to Sunday, temperatures will fall further – between -7 C and -2 C, in Vidzeme and Latgale -11 C to -8 C.
On Sunday, the sky will get cloudy and bring snowfall in Kurzeme and the central part of the country, and air temperatures in most parts of the country will remain a few degrees below zero. A thaw is possible in Kurzeme, though.
On Monday the weather conditions will be broadly the same as on Sunday, but as of Tuesday, temperatures will start to rise again above zero throughout Latvia, with rain and wet snow.
