Cycling star Skujiņš raises 3,200 euros for young riders

Latvia's top road and track cyclist Toms Skujiņš has concluded a charity campaign organized by himsel and the company Printful, in which he invited people to buy specially designed fan shirts and caps to support him at the Paris Olympic Games, said the Latvian Cycling Federation.

As a result of the campaign, Skujiņš made a donation to the Latvian Youth Cycling Fund of 3,200 euros for the development of young riders.

In July, the campaign invited the public to buy specially designed T-shirts and caps in honor of Skujiņš' start in his third Olympic Games, with all profits directed to the Latvian Youth Cycling Fund with the aim of supporting the participation of young cyclists in international road races.

It should be noted that Toms Skujiņš also made an additional donation personally for each unit sold. The total donation made to the youth academy reached 3,200 EUR.

Skujiņš said: "We must say a big thank you to everyone who participated in the promotion and bought shirts. It's a great pleasure that there were so many people who wanted to support the young riders and will now be very recognizable on the streets in the special fan shirts. Our young cyclists deserve support!"

The funds partially financed the participation of the Latvian boys' and girls' road cycling team in the international competition in Belgium, as well as support for the junior team's trip to compete in Italy. In addition to that, part of the support will be provided for the 2025 junior and youth national teams' starts in competitions in Europe.
