In the final set, Ostapenko made an incredible comeback from 2-5, and the match – lasting two-and-a-half hours – was resolved in a tie-break.
In the third round, Ostapenko, ranked WTA 31, will play the US' Madison Keys, ranked WTA 18.

Latvia's second tennis player Aļona Ostapeno defeated American Shelby Rogers 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7:4) in the second round of the Charleston Open tennis tournament on April 3.
