Ostapenko into Wimbledon semi finals

Latvia's Aļona Ostapenko (known worldwide as Jelena) made it into the last four of the Wimbledon ladies singles July 10 with a powerful 7-5, 6-4 victory over Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova.

Amazingly, Ostapenko managed a far higher winning percentage (77%) on her second serve than on her first (58%) as her attacking style paid dividends.

The former French Open champion, seeded 12th will now face Germany's Angelique Kerber, seeded 11th in the semi final for a place in the grand slam final against either Serena Williams of the USA or Julia Gorges of Germany.
