Latvia will 'hack' solutions to support Ukraine

An online volunteer hackathon “HackForce” will seek solutions to support Ukraine from March 11 to 13, organizers said.

The hackathon calls for programmers, lawyers, representatives of the creative industries, experts from the state and non-governmental sector and any active member of the society who is prepared to offer their skills and time to participate.

"At the moment, when Ukraine is valiantly fighting for the freedom of Europe as a whole, everyone is looking for an opportunity to help – with funding, work, time and skills. There is no doubt that this is the right time to put the power and professional knowledge of ideas in place to help Ukraine and its people. Each day matters and the ability to quickly create solutions is crucial,” the organizers said.

Members are expected to develop the first solutions of ideas in a couple of days with the help of mentors, focusing on four key directions: business and talent, the state and non-governmental sector, information and media, art and creative industries.

You can apply for the hackathon, either individually or for ready-made teams, with your own idea or enthusiasm for joining another idea. More information, as well as registration is available on the online platform of the hackathon.

The first “HackForce” took place two years ago, a few days after the beginning of the first pandemic lockdown. In view of the situation, the organizers concluded that it was now time to come together again. Hackathon “HackForce” is organized by a team of volunteers without compensation.
