Foreign embassies set to join this year's 'Big Clean-Up'
This year's annual Liela Talka (Big Clean-up) will take place on April 22 and among those clearing away the trash and detritus of previous seasons will be at least 22 participants from foreign embassies based in Latvia, according to Vita Jaunzeme, the head of the Liela Talka oragnization.

Despite the changes in the Criminal Law which provide for car confiscation in the case of heavy intoxication, the trends have not yet changed, with most drunk drivers tipping the scales above 1.5 permilles.
